Bring Your Daughter To The Cinema

A new horror film, co-written by Iron Maiden star Bruce Dickinson, is to be given its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

The heavy metal singer wrote the supernatural thriller Chemical Wedding with Julian Doyle, who also directs. Doyle filmed the band's 1988 video promo Can I Play With Madness.

The film, which will be released in cinemas in the summer, tells the tale of an English professor who discovers he is in fact the reincarnation of British occultist Aleister Crowley. Simon Callow will play the main character.

The film will have its premiere at the famous French film festival on May 17, with Dickinson, who is a trained pilot, expected to fly his guests on Iron Maiden's own jet to the gala screening.

Meanwhile, the band have confirmed they are to release a best of collection available to download for free in May - although it will expire after three listens.
